Common terms you'll hear or see us use for club related matters.
ASRF - Australian Street Rod Federation: the controlling body of Street Rodding in Australia
Building Application - May be either on TAC or DPTI paperwork and is presented either to TAC or DPTI when building a Hot Rod or making major modifications to a classic or left hand drive vehicle
Certificate of Exemption - Issued by DPTI after a vehicle has been presented for inspection to ensure all modifications are in order and comply with the 'Approval in Principal to Build'
Club Event - All events discussed and recorded in the minutes of the club as such are considered a 'club event'. These include club meetings, coffee & cars, club bbq’s and other events, and possible other events like Waikerie Rock’n Roll Show’n Shine, the Goanna Run, etc
CR - Club Registration: is available to financial club members of accepted recognised clubs
DC - Divisional Council: each state has a DC made up of representatives from each of the ASRF affiliated clubs in that state
DPTI - Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure: Responsible for legislation and laws pertaining to modified vehicles. Responsible for vehicle inspections to ensure they comply with all requirements for legal registration
Interim Certificate of Exemption - Issued by DPTI immediately after a vehicle passes inspection for registration to enable the owner to access Club Registration
MR334 - Form issued by RMV and used by clubs for members to access club registration
NCC - National Control Council: collectively all SD form the NCC and meet annually for an annual general meeting. Monthly meetings are held by telephone conference
NSRG - National Street Rod Building Guidelines: Recognised by most states in Australia this is the guidelines for the construction and modification of a street rod in Australia
RCC - Riverland Customs & Classics club
RR - Riverside Rodders club
RMV - Registrar of Motor Vehicles: Oversees registration of motor vehicles & club registration
SADC - South Australian Divisional Council
SASD - South Australian State Director
SD - State Director: each state has an elected state director for the ASRF. Elected by the ASRF members from that state
SMASA - Street Machine Association of South Australia: Organisation offering membership to assorted car owners enabling them to access club registration. Not really an association, more like a really large car club
TAC - Technical Advisory Committee: each state has a TAC to oversee the building of ASRF class vehicles. They work with each states relevant departments to ensure vehicles are built to the necessary standards and within the NSRG
